Oxfordshire county council’s previously announced cuts to youth service funding have been reduced and delayed until 2012:
Savings in the youth service of £2.3m over five years have been dropped and replaced with proposals for cuts of up to £350,000 from 2012.
The Oxfordshire fire cadet scheme and the Oxfordshire Youth Parliament have also been spared.

Over the next two years, cash given to Bolton Young People’s Substance Misuse could be slashed from £427,610 to £177,409.

As part of the Scottish Government’s CashBack for Communities initiative, 16 groups have been allocated funding awards to help them continue to operate in their areas.

The governments has awarded a £3 million grant for the repair and rennovation of the Weymouth Outdoor Education Centre, could this be a sign of increased government funding?
The new centre will have a sports hall, performing arts facilities, a computer suite and film production studio and a café run by the young people.

In a new scheme administered by the Big Lottery Fund, the government could be close to distributing funds from dormant bank accounts to charities and youth finance projects.
The report outlines plans to use at least 25 per cent of unclaimed assets cash to establish a £100m fund that will finance organisations to teach young people and adults about financial capability.
